Will "Rick and Morty" season 3 feature a time travel episode for the characters?
Movie Pilot commented that while the animated series was created to be a parody of "Back to the Future," there is noticeably no time travel going on. The publication noted that there has never been an episode showing the titular characters travelling in time.
However, there will definitely be no time travel even for "Rick and Morty" season 3 since the show's creators, Justin Rolland and Dan Harmon, have not included it. In episode 1 of season 2, the complications of Rick's tampering with time were revealed.
"A Rickle in Time" showed how pausing time would create separate realities. These realities multiplied until Rick was able to fuse them together again.
In an interview with Comic Book Resources last August, Dan Harmon and Justin Rolland revealed why they wanted to avoid time travel in "Rick and Morty."
"Time travel is a real shark-jumper," Harmon told the publication. "Once you introduce it to the canon of your show - it's just a dangerous toy to pull out."
"Here's what's great about the first episode of Season Two is that it's a cautionary tale of why you don't f--k with time," Rolland added. "And by the way, Rick never travelled - none of them travelled in time - all they did was pause time."
Meanwhile, "Rick and Morty" series creator Dan Harmon has revealed that they are considering the idea of developing a game based on the show according to iSchoolGuide. Plus, it may have unlimited dimensions.
"I would like to see a marriage between 'Minecraft' as the lo-fi thing in exchange for this amazing -- the creation of the world as you walk into it," Harmon revealed in an ETC Podcast.
"Blending that technology, you have a portal gun and you can shoot it -- you can go to really specific dimensions but you can also just go to random ones that are put together."
Although there hasn't been any official announcement on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date yet, there are reports that suggest a Mar. 2017 premiere.
