What's the truth behind the delayed release date for "Dishonored 2" really?
There have been numerous speculations that "Dishonored 2" release date will be delayed to more than a year. Formally announced during E3 2015, fans have been wanting factual news about the release date. Publisher Bethesda, on the other hand, has remained silent about a specific release date, and has named Spring 2016 for the launch.
However, latest rumors now have pointed towards a delay in "Dishonored 2" release date, specifically citing the reason that Bethesda is trying to avoid a tight competition with titles set to be launched around that time. A report by DayHerald claimed that, "Bethesda may be worried that these games may steal the spotlight from 'Dishonored 2' and thus it has decided to push back its release date to 2017."
"The delay will give the developers a chance to further work on the game to improve and enhance it even more," it further added.
With the report based on another speculative article that assumes the worst and slightly confirms the pushed back release date, now fans are worried that "Dishonored 2" will not be among the titles arriving next year.
The truth is, Bethesda hasn't revealed any update on "Dishonored 2" especially the release date that has been vaguely set on next year for Spring. Not to mention the latest pre-order details that have been unleashed for fans, signaling that somehow "Dishonored 2" is almost ready, and a delayed release date is unlikely.
GeekSnack revealed the pre-order details for "Dishonored 2" PS4 and Xbox One and PC for only $20. The report also pointed out that, "While this is definitely a pricing mistake on the retailer's part, Target has honored similar pre-orders before so this is a really good deal for all fans of the series."
So to date, "Dishonored 2" for PS4 and Xbox One release date remains on a spring 2016-no specific date yet, but no delay confirmations have also been announced.
