Previous reports have already revealed the possibility that "House of Cards" season 4 will return filled with marriage turmoil, between Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and wife Claire (Robin Wright). The previous "House of Cards" chapter has unleashed trouble in paradise, and spoilers have backed the idea that this theme will persist as "House of Cards" season 4 returns.
A report by E!Online revealed that while the previous chapter stirred painful emotions for the characters, it was what the showrunners have planned and could possibly have this theme spilled over onto "House of Cards" season 4. Showrunner Beau Willimon shared hints of spoilers for the upcoming chapter and said, "We took a lot of risks with season three."
"We wanted to delve deeper into the emotional story. We wanted a little less political intrigue and a little more of the emotional flux. We wanted to tell the story of the marriage. I think there were a lot of fans that really appreciated that. And for a lot of them, this turn that we took made it their favorite season," added Willimon.
Deadline also revealed "House of Cards" season 4 spoilers, hinting that the character of Neve Campbell will wreak havoc in the life of Frank Underwood. While this presidential candidate will not back down, winning over Campbell's character could prove to be troublesome, especially with the ongoing marital issues with his wife, Claire.
"Everyone is staying mum on the character Campbell will be playing," the report revealed. "There had been speculation that Season 4 would introduce a new, younger couple to rival Frank and Claire," it added
Thing is, if the new couple arrives in town as revealed by latest "House of Cards" season 4 spoilers, will the almost-separated Frank and Claire Underwood be able to bring their A-game while their own marital troubles persist?
Contrary to previous reports of delayed release date, "House of Cards" season 4 premieres on March 4.
