Frank Ocean still owes fans the new album and after a botched release date, fans are surprised to hear another collaboration news. Does this mean "Boys Don't Cry" isn't ready at all?
It's already the following year after Frank Ocean himself promised the arrival of his new album "Boys Don't Cry" and to date, a new release date isn't announced yet. Previous reports have already revealed a possible 2016 release date announcement, but while there isn't any update from neither Frank Ocean nor his people, it's a bit far off.
While there still remains zero official update on the release date amid the clamor for the new album reported by MusicTimes, latest updates on Frank Ocean revealed that the singer-songwriter may be jumping into another collaboration with a different artist. A report by Gigwise has revealed that Frank Ocean is back in the studio working with Rich the Kid.
According to the report, Rich the Kid has posted a screen-shot FaceTime with the man behind "Boys Don't Cry" but then deleted the post swiftly after. "After Rich The Kid posted, and then swiftly deleted, a screenshot of him FaceTiming Frank Ocean, sources have confirmed that the two are in the studio together," said the report.
However, Frank Ocean's new collaborator has continued to tease fans even after the deleted post. The same report pointed out that Rich the Kid, "continued to retweet new stories that reported their collaboration, telling Complex, 'Hope y'all ready."
While a good news for Frank Ocean fans especially those who have been wondering about the artist for a while, it seems the new album isn't quite ready for release if both artists are still working on "Boys Don't Cry" together.
Although reports have yet to reveal if Rich the Kid is working with Frank Ocean for the notoriously delayed new album, the collaboration could be a sign that a release date announcement may be around the corner, but an actual release date of the new album could be further along later this year, or even next year?
But then again, what's the use of a release date announcement if Frank Ocean won't bother to tell fans a delay or change in the new album's launch anyway.
