Now that Dobrev is in a relationship with boyfriend, Austin Stowell, there are rumors that Somerhalder is jealous of his ex and her new beau.
In a report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the "Vampire Diaries" star has allegedly responded to those rumors surrounding the possible engagement of Stowell and Dobrev. While there were initial rumors that Somerhalder was jealous of Dobrev and Stowell's relationship, the actor proved otherwise by posting a picture of him and his wife, Nikki Reed, cuddling a pair of foster puppies.
The celebrity gossip website also said that the actor has kept mum on the subject of his ex-girlfriend and her romance with Austin Stowell.
The actor is no stranger to whirlwind romances, having married Nikki Reed just nine months after they started dating. Many fans speculated that the marriage was not going to last especially since it followed a painful split with Dobrev.
There were also rumors reported by Australia Network News that the trio had almost had a close encounter during the after parties at The Golden Globes. Reed and Somerhalder were "annoyingly in love with each other," while Dobrev arrived solo at the event.
On her part, Dobrev has assured her fans that she and her ex are "friends," and have moved on from the drama.
