"The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon may have helped inspire one scene in David Bowie's ominous music video for "Lazarus."

David Bowie passed away last Sunday, Jan. 10, after battling with cancer for months. Prior to that, the 69-year-old rock legend released his final studio album entitled "Blackstar."

The music video for "Lazarus," included in Bowie's final album, premiered on Jan. 8. Several reports suggested that it was his way of saying goodbye.

"Look up here, I'm in heaven," the song's lyrics said. "I've got scars that can't be seen. I've got drama, can't be stolen. Everybody knows me now."

According to Maxim, the "Space Oddity" hit maker intended it to be his "swan song." MTV inferred that David Bowie may have written and recorded "Blackstar" during his 18-month battle with cancer.

"David's death came as a complete surprise, as did nearly everything else about him," longtime friend and collaborator Brian Eno told People.

"We knew each other for over 40 years... Over the last few years - with him living in New York and me in London - our connection was by email..."

"I received an email from him seven days ago. It was as funny as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did. It ended with this sentence: 'Thank you for our good times, brian. they will never rot [sic].' And it was signed 'Dawn'. I realize now he was saying goodbye."

The Inquisitr reported that Jimmy Fallon compared one scene in "Lazarus" showing Bowie's writing technique to his own. "The Tonight Show" host said that the rock icon got it from him.

On his show, Fallon also showed a freeze-frame shot of David Bowie holding up the notebook with writings that read, "For Jimmy - Help Me!" "The Tonight Show" host decided to help Bowie by promoting his latest album "Blackstar" on the show.
