Hayden Christensen was Darth Vader but not anymore. The next "Star Wars" episode will unravel the mystery behind Snoke, is he actually the legendary evil from the 80s?

There have been many reports of the return of Hayden Christensen to "Star Wars" but his comeback has been contested and discussed in so many different ways. Previous reports have pointed out that as Hayden Christensen returns to "Star Wars," his character will be of Anakin Skywalker and not of his darker past, Darth Vader.

The timeline of events in the "Star Wars" universe attests to this speculation, as Anakin Skywalker has already appeared in a somewhat ghost-like entity during "The Return of the Jedi." However, the talks that Darth Vader will return to "Star Wars" resurrects the idea that Hayden Christensen will return behind the black mask.

However, developments after the latest "Star Wars" release, "The Force Awakens," have pointed out that Snoke is actually a more possible choice to the return of Darth Vader. The major twist that brings Snoke a possible Darth Vader runner-up is that the mask as seen in "The Force Awakens" survived.

A report by ChristianPost revealed that a fan questioned this especially since it was thought that the mask was gone forever. Seeing that the iconic headpiece survived, opens the possibility that the person inside could have also skipped death. Darth Vader could have survived the fall, but would definitely be deformed, much like Snoke in the latest "Star Wars."

Which brings the speculation to the point of Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars." Initial reports have revealed that Hayden Christensen could return to "Star Wars" simply as a guide to the new line of Jedis coming in the next episode. His character will likely be of the other world, as in Hayden Christensen's last appearance in "Star Wars" remastered "The Return of the Jedi."

Hayden Christensen returns to the "Star Wars" franchise, but definitely not as the iconic Darth Vader.
