No new album is coming, but Frank Ocean is working on new music. So, "Boys Don't Cry" is cancelled?

Previous reports have revealed that Frank Ocean's new album isn't ready because the artist has been found in the midst of collaboration. According to Gigwise, Frank Ocean has been working with Rich the Kid and while the latter has initially posted updates about the ongoing collaboration, it has since been deleted.

There have been little to almost no updates on "Boys Don't Cry" after it has missed its release date last year. This movement by Frank Ocean however has redirected fans' attention, with some speculating that the new album simply isn't complete and that it hasn't been cancelled. Other reports speculated that 2016 even could be the year of the new album as the hype on Frank Ocean continues to rise.

While fans rejoice at the idea that Frank Ocean is making music, what's disconcerting is that he could not be working on the new album after all. Frank Ocean in the studio collaborating with Rich the Kid doesn't necessarily mean both artists are working on new music for the album "Boys Don't Cry." It's a possibility, but it's not confirmed.

Frank Ocean's collaborator, Rich the Kid revealed to HotNewHipHop the ongoing project and said, "We['re] recording new music today."

"We are in L.A. I'm here working with Wiz [Khalifa] and I called him [Frank Ocean], he's in the studio," added Rich the Kid.

Note that Rich the Kid doesn't explicitly reveal which album he's collaborating on with Frank Ocean and of course that will remain top secret if and when the new album does come out and if it's not cancelled. But already, fans are worried about the status of "Boys Don't Cry" if Frank Ocean is actually making time to for music not included in the new album.

If indeed Frank Ocean isn't working on the new album but on a different project with the collaborator, does this mean "Boys Don't Cry" will be cancelled?
