Rumors of Bruno Mars working on a new album for 2016 have been circulating on the Internet and fans have speculated that the singer has returned to the recording studio, to work on what might be a back-to-roots album, according to MediaMass.

A source has confirmed the rumors, saying that the Grammy winner is currently working in the studio and has recorded as many as eight songs.

"It's still in the early stages," said the source. "He's got security on the doors to ensure no-one hears a whisper."

Bruno Mars recently posted on Twitter as well, asking fans to "stick with me."

The superstar's record is one of the 20 Most Anticipated Pop Albums of 2016. Mars has focused on creating a third album, which is also a follow-up to his double platinum 2012 album "Unorthodox Jukebox," revealed Rolling Stone.

In between albums, the singer did not really leave the spotlight. He played the "Super Bowl Half Time" show and also appeared on 2015's biggest single, which is Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk." The song spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard chart. Mars also worked on a song on Adele's blockbuster record "25," called "All I Ask."

The track just might be the most beautifully arranged and written song Adele has performed, shared Inverse.

Mars did not sing in the song but is co-written by his team, the "Smeezingtons." It is also rumored that Mars is planning a worldwide tour at the end of 2016 was reported by the Inquisitr as early as mid -2015.

Early last year, Mars was on "The Ellen Show" with Mark Ronson. He talked about working with Ronson and said that after that project, he'll be gone for some time. Mars was asked by the host, "for how long" will be gone and the singer answered by saying that he thinks he's "ready to start his third record." He also added that the new record has to be "just as good, if not better." The clip can be seen on YouTube.

One thing's for sure, fans are definitely looking forward to Bruno Mars' upcoming and new album this 2016.
