"Captain America: Civil War's" Spider-Man costume may give the web-slinging hero camera shutters for vision.
Comicbook.com reported that Spider-Man was given a new suit by Tony Stark named the "Iron Spider" in the comics. This gave him a lot of new tools such as three mechanical arms on his back, gliding capabilities and other functions.
The publication noted that "Shutter Eyes" will be given to "Captain America: Civil War's" Spider-Man costume because of Deadpool. Apparently, the anti-hero has paved the way for the idea that Spider-Man can be expressive even with a mask.
Deadpool's eyes, even with his mask on, are constantly moving and showing his emotions to the audience without revealing his face underneath. Of course, it does help that the Merc with a Mouth constantly breaks the fourth wall.
"The Russos may have taken a cue from this, creating their own version of Spidey that can finally have his mask emote when chatting with other super powered folks around him, without having to constantly take off his mask (I'm looking at you, 'Amazing Spider-Man' franchise)," Comicbook.com wrote.
According to Geek, Anthony Russo has teased that the "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man costume will be "a mix of what everyone is wanting and a little twist." Another speculation suggested that the "Iron Spider" costume will be patterned after Iron Man's red and gold signature look but Spidey could eventually abandon it for his iconic red and blue suit.
In a report by Cosmic Book News, a source revealed that the "Captain America: Civil War" Spider-Man costume looked similar to Andrew Garfield's "Amazing Spider-Man 2" outfit. However, the "Civil War" suit had "extremely reflective" eyes.
There were rumors that Spider-Man will wear goggles but the insider said that there was no visible strap around his head. "It makes sense that they could be reflective glass, though," the source added.
"The only reason why this stuck out to me was because Spidey's eyes were reflecting the setting sun."
