"Final Fantasy 7" PS4 remake will be released in multiple parts, which is an announcement that may have not surprised fans and in fact, fans might have seen it coming, according to iDigitalTimes.

Some did react with the usual "internetty" anger but the truth is the game has always been too big for one disc.

The original game was split into three discs, with the first disc covering the game's start and ending in Aeris' death. The second tells of the beginning of "The Crater" until the final dungeon. The third disc started late in the game and now the newest version will have new gameplay and high definition graphics. This means it definitely will be released in installments.

The "Final Fantasy 7" PS4 remake will not have the chunky graphics seen in the original and it won't have turn-based battles either, which just means it will have a more modern approach. Square Enix has already made fans know via their blog, that they will cover the full material of "Final Fantasy Seven" and will expand beyond that.

They also made sure that gamers know that the remake would be split into multiple parts. The release of the game may have been influenced by Square Enix's fear, that the next generation consoles might be a major flop, reported Attack of the Fanboy.

According to many publishers and Square Enix, they were convinced that the consoles were "dying." This was prior to the release of the Xbox One and PS4, revealed Cross Map.

In a recent episode of his web series "The Jimquisition," game critic Sterling said, that due to Square Enix's panic, the developer meddled consistently with existing games and cancelled multiple games that fans do not know about.

Jim Sterling also shared that his sources told him that Square's lack of belief in consoles meant that "Hitman" was first designed as online-only game.

The "Final Fantasy 7" PS4 remake release date is currently slated in 2017, exclusively for Sony's console.
