Frank Ocean's collaborations have surfaced amid the absence of his new album. Is the "Boys Don't Cry" artist unhappy with his music that's why the release date was missed?

It's six months and counting and still no new album. Frank Ocean has promised his fans worldwide that "Boys Don't Cry" release date was going to be sometime in July, and the month is almost here again and still no new album. Now, what could only be gathered as snippets of updates have been revealed: collaborations here and there.

In October, reports have revealed that Frank Ocean was in cahoots with artist SebastiAn and was apparently making music for the new album. This was three months after the supposed release date for "Boys Don't Cry." According to MusicTimes, Ed Banger's Pedro Winter revealed that SebastiAn, "just finished the production for a few pieces for Frank Ocean - a very exciting collaboration - and then he can turn to his second album."

Months after the rumored new album update, no new release date announcement and not a peep from Frank Ocean.

This year, another collaboration of Frank Ocean surfaced, involving Rich the Kid. Gigwise revealed that again, new music is being made and while there was initially a confirmation that Rich the Kid was involved in the second album (aka "Boys Don't Cry"), the leak was deleted and now nowhere to be found.

Now, what irks fans the most is that after the July release date has passed, Frank Ocean remained silent about missing the new album's deadline. No announcement was made to explain the cause of the release date delay, and now the surfacing collaboration news has confused many.

Are these new collaborations for the new album? If so, then why did Frank Ocean reveal a July 2015 release date when up to now, he's still working on "Boys Don't Cry." Does that mean he's grossly unsatisfied with how the new album turned out and needed to flake out on his fans?

Throw us a bone here, Frank Ocean. What's happening with your new album? Is a 2016 release date possible or not?
