WWE superstar John Cena recently underwent surgery for his injured shoulder. Since his absence from the wrestling scene, fans have been wondering just how long it would take before Cena could return to the ring.

WWE announced the successful operation of their top wrestling star.

"He had a complete tear of a small portion of the rear rotator cuff tendon, the infraspinatus - toward the top-back of his shoulder - which I repaired," Dr. Dugas told WWE.com. "Also, there was a large piece of loose tissue in his shoulder that needed to be removed."

Post operation, recovering Cena talked about the status of his condition via Twitter.

"Day 6 post operation. Movement is very good but because a giant chunk of cartilage was missing, this one may take a bit. #nevergiveup."

The Twitter post fueled more speculations, even from WWE, that John Cena will indeed not be able to return immediately in time for Wrestlemania 32, based on a What Culture report.

This is a bummer for all the WWE fans especially that Cena is rumored to fight The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32. According to a report by Forbes, PWInsider said that recovering from the injury and the surgery would likely take a 6 to 9 months for a labrum surgery.

John Cena is known for his amazing capacity to quickly return from injuries. According to Inquisitr, a previous injury in 2008 also caused Cena to take a break from Wrestling. But sooner than expected, the WWE superstar surprised fans in the Royal Rumble match at Madison Square Garden, as he showed up for a match and ended up winning.

On the other hand, WWE's been pretty silent about who The Undertaker will fight at Wrestlemania 32. This could be an indication that the management is undergoing adjustments because of John Cena's absence.

On the contrary, John Cena's indefinite WWE return and The Undertaker's unclear opponent may all be part of a good match up that WWE had been cooking up for Wrestlemania 32; just like what other have speculated.
