The annual Academy Awards also called Oscars, has apparently been a standout among the most prestigious ceremonies in honoring cinematic achievements in the film industry. Thus, this year's Oscars is reportedly being boycotted by several big names in the industry.
One of which is the 27-year-old hitmaker, Adele, who has reportedly turned down the opportunity to present a top award at the 88th Academy Awards this February since the timetable reportedly clashes with her world tour.
A source near Adele, according to Mirror Co UK, revealed that the reason behind why she's declining to accept the Oscars invitation is because "it's too close to the opening night of her tour."
Notably, the Academy Awards is set to happen on February 28th while Adele's concert will reportedly be held at the SSE Arena in Belfast falling on the 29th.
"[Event] Organisers are desperate to get her and will still do anything to make it happen but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will not let anything jeopardise her tour," an anonymous source revealed, as noted by Entertainment.ie.
What's more, the bosses of the annual Academy Awards reportedly offered to lay on plush private transport to ensure that Adele will be in time to her world tour in Belfast 24 hours later.
However, the star apparently could not be persuaded by that and is professedly aware that "things can go wrong which causes delays and also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice."
That being so, it seems that the down-to-earth singer, Adele, is indeed Adele and definitely cherishes her fans and doesn't want to disappoint them by taking a risk to attend the annual Oscars event.
"There were people in her team who think the Academy Awards is too big a deal to miss but Adele is in a league of her own in terms of fame and success," the source added. "Amazingly, she doesn't really need it."
