The Oscars 2016 has faced probably one of its biggest controversies, but Chris Rock won't back out from being the host of the show. Many black celebrities including Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett will boycott the 88th Academy Awards on Feb. 28 for its lack of diversity among nominees.

During an interview with "Good Morning America," the 47-year-old actor confessed that he felt uncomfortable with the situation. According to Variety, there are 20 acting nominees and all of them are white and that incident also happened last year.

"My wife's not going," he said. "It would be awkward to show up with Charlize (Theron). We've discussed it. We're part of this community. But at this current time, we're uncomfortable to stand there and say, 'This is OK.'"

Instead of getting threatened by the boycott, the Oscars 2016 producer Reginald Hudlin revealed during the NAACP Image Awards lunch that Chris Rock will address the #OscarsSoWhite controversy through his monologue.

"Chris is hard at work," Hudlin told ET via Variety. "He and his writing staff locked themselves in a room. As things got a little provocative and exciting, he said, 'I'm throwing out the show I wrote and writing a new show.'"

Reginald Hudlin and the people behind the 88th Academy Awards believe in Chris Rock's capability of hosting the show and they are also ready for his controversial statements.

"Chris is that thorough," he said. "He's that brilliant, and I have 1000 percent confidence that he will deliver something that people will be talking about for weeks."

"And, yes, the Academy is ready for him to do that. They're excited about him doing that. They know that's what we need. They know that's what the public wants, and we deliver what the people want."

Despite the boycott of non-white actors, Don Cheadle showed his support to Chris Rock for hosting the 2016 Oscars. During an interview with Us Weekly, the "House of Lies" actor revealed that he had a chat with the comedian and asked him to go with it.

"He can skewer the entirety of society with this and on a world stage. I hope it turns out to be one of the greatest moments we've ever seen in television history. It would be an amazing moment," he said.
