"Clash Of Clans" gamers can get updates on a website made just for them.

Supercell developers made it easier for players to check up on the stat updates of their clans. While it may still be in the earlier phases of development, there are limited functions in the beta version. This could possibly change the way the game is played as a whole.

The announcement was made in the Supercell forums where it included basic information about the "Clash Of Clans" API. The beta version of the website gave players access to league lists with badges, location based rankings and clan search with real-time results that include member lists and badge images. This means that the data in the API or application program interface will make organizing and managing clans a breeze.

According to Design & Trend, a "Clash Of Clans" forum moderator explained the advantages of Supercell's newest update.

"With the API, it can update clan rosters live including current badges, trophy counts and more," stated the moderator. "In short, this means that people won't be doing the work of manually updating the system since everything is updated live from the servers at Supercell.

It may sound easy from the get go but getting started required a developer account, what you sign up for, and a key for your application. The API Keys generally help in controlling access and traffic to the API, this means that only specified and registered IP addresses will be able to access the API endpoints. If players have more than one device with the same app, each of the devices will have different keys for the applications.

Next, is getting a JSON Web Token.

"To use the API," explained the site. "A JSON Web Token is required and it needs to be passed as part of every request. The token is bound to rate limitations and specified IP addresses, so you will need a web server to fetch data from the API and host your application. The API enforces these restrictions and exceeding the limitations will cause API calls to fail."

Apart from agreeing with the terms and conditions, the last thing to take note of is the response format and status codes. Standard HTTP status codes are reportedly used to point out successful and error responses. Since API responses are JSON Formatted they may contain additional information on the error.

Those who are willing to try out the update can go directly to the "Clash Of Clans" API beta website and register.
