"Destiny" has been at the forefront of online games for PlayStation and Microsoft because of its impressive gameplay that combines RPG with First Person Shooting (FPS).

Gamers don't easily encounter a game where they play the role of a hero that has to deal with their environment as well as another opponent who also happens to be another gamer. IGN reviewed the game as "a mechanically excellent, visually evocative FPS housed within an under-developed RPG framework."

The beauty of the game combined with its impressive FPS elements has made the game really popular that it's practically a no-brainer to expect a sequel.

However, there's no confirmed date for the sequel and to add uncertainty to the release, Harold Ryan has stepped down as Bungie's President according to the game developer's official website.

The resignation of Ryan actually made some fans think that the game's sequel might no longer get the release date everyone expects. Add to the fact that the game has been noted to have some problems lately.

According to Collection Gaming Network, "Issues were noticed in Bungie's matchmaking during the SRL (Sparrow Racing League) event back in December, in which Bungie indicated the increased latency seen in the Crucible and increased matchmaking times are the result of SRL and the large amount of players queuing for SRL and should subside by the time SRL is done."

Although Bungie promised that latency should be addressed soon after SRL, the game still has some latency features in the Crucible. Unfortunately, "Bungie was already on their communication blackout and no answers were to be had for why nothing had changed."

Kotaku also has news about the anticipated sequel. Unfortunately, there is no definite date for the sequel's release and making it worse is the "constantly shifting" plans for the game.

There are news that a series of DLCs will come out instead of the official "Destiny 2" but nothing has been confirmed by the game developer.
