Another "Indiana Jones" original cast is wanting to return for "Indiana Jones 5;" "The Shannara Chronicles" star John Rhys-Davies said in a recent interview that he wants in.

John Rhys-Davies is known to have played Sallah, Indy's trusted ally, in both the 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and the 1989's "The Last Crusade;" and for "Indiana Jones 5," John Rhys-Davies said that he loves the idea of reprising his role as Sallah.

"Of course, I would like to do another one," Rhys-Davies told Digital Spy. "He's a great character-but I'd have him do something meaningful."

"Every time I see Spielberg, I say to him, 'Steven-the really successful films are the first and the third, but there seems to be something missing from two or four... I wonder what it is," the veteran actor said laughingly.

Rhys-Davies added that he turned down the offer to return for the 2008's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdon of the Crystal Skull," adding that if he accepted the bid, Sallah would have been reduced to a cameo role.

"I was asked to be in the last one, but they wanted me to do a bit of green-screen-walk in, sit down and clap-and they were going to cut that into the wedding scene at the end," he said.

"I turned it down because it seemed to me that that would be a bit of a betrayal of the audience's expectations. Sallah is a popular character-there's a greatness of soul about him that we all love and admire," Rhys-Davies said further.

The veteran actor also expressed his concern about today's industry having no place for "good Arabs" and it may be the reason that reprising Sallah may never really happen.

Meanwhile, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" sound editor David Acord recently revealed that some of the scoring used for "Force" was actually from "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark." This, according to Lawyer Herald, could be "a homage of Harrison Ford's dedicated work on two of George Lucas' most popular franchises."
