"Attack On The Titan" season 2 won't be going into production as planned and the release date may be pushed back because of it.

The fans of the hit anime series will have to wait much longer as it will reportedly be released later this year. It is expected to fare much better than the live action movies did as the production will be following the original manga story.

According to MNR Daily, the highly anticipated series will stick to the original content. The manga series spans four story arcs but is currently two arcs short and isn't enough to fill the second season.

The "Attack On Titan" seasn 2 production will reportedly get back on track when the manga version get completed, four story arcs and all, and may take a while before fans will be get a release date.

This is good news as fans won't be left disappointed like they were when the two live-action movies did. While the films did earn well from the box-office, fans were very vocal when it came to their disappointment in the film and it flopped in catering to their expectations. Not only did the film lack in some visual aesthetics but the production completely deviated from the original story and created their own version of "Attack On Titan."

Day Herald reported that Ymir is one of the vital characters in revealing more about the titans and their origins. Along with Ymir's past getting more airtime, the rightful royal family, the Reiss clans, have been reinstated. While the royal family have the uncanny ability to shift into Titans, there are allegedly others that have the ability to transform into more frightening versions of titans.

"The ability of Erwin Smith to transform into a titan is related to his father and there is a chance that this story arc will be dealt with in the coming season," reported the site. "It was previously known that Erwin Smith’s father is not alive anymore, but now it looks like he might not be dead and will be able to throw light on how Erwin changes into a titan at will."

While the "Attack On Titan" season 2 release date may take a while, fans can enjoy the new "Attack On Titan" game by Koei Tecmo that is scheduled for a North American release this year.
