Nina Dobrev played the role of the protagonist Elena Gilbert in ''The Vampire Series.'' She left the show in the seventh season and ever since the future of the show became very uncertain.
There were some rumors of Dobrev joining back the cast; however, it seems that those possibilities may not come true. As per the latest update on inquisitr, the show might be closed down soon. This TV series had sparked the real life romance between Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. He has now blamed it on ''The Final Girls'' famed actress Dobrev for leaving the show.
The Hollywood reporter had reported way back in Jan 2015 that the CW network renewed the series for the seventh season. However in Apr. 2015, Dobrev left this popular series to pursue bigger projects. ''The Final Girls'' and ''xXx: The Return of Xander Cage'' were the film projects which she had signed and wanted to concentrate on them.
The number of viewers drastically decreased after Dobrev left. As the fans know, ''The Vampire Series'' has put the character of Dobrev in a magical deep sleep. Since the character was alive, the fans were speculating that she will return.
The show was popular when the reel life couple's romance spilled over to their real life romance too. However, the relationship between Dobrev and Somerhalder soured and she went on to find solace in the arms of Austin Stowell. Somerhalder chose to go back to his wife Nikki Reed and as per the latest news; the couple is trying to mend the relationship.
