The Boston Online Film Critics Association (BOFCA) has named "Snowpiercer" as the best picture of 2014. Last year, the group chose "12 Years a Slave" as the best film, which went on to win the Oscar for best picture.

Tilda Sinton also took home the award for best supporting actress. Swinton's performance generated quite a buzz, Rolling Stone said her portrayal was "sensational" and "mad wicked".

In an interview with the Examiner, Sinton shares that "Snowpiercer" had been the highest grossing film in Korean history.

"The wonderful thing about that film is that the first place it was released was Korea, and it was the biggest grossing film in Korean history and then it went around the world and in fact it still has to open in the UK. But this is almost the last place it opens. So it has already touched the world. For us, it's a truly international film. And it's a great relief that American audiences have seen Bong's film because they deserve it and they love it. So, we were right."

"Snowpiercer", directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho and Tilda Swinton, grossed $4.5 million domestically during when it was released earlier this year.

Fox Searchlight was also named big winner as "Birdman" won four prizes: Best Director for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarrityu, Supporting Actor for Edward Norton, cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, and for acting ensemble.
