As the use of the NHS reaches a potential breaking point, there are more and more people looking into alternative medicines to combat the waiting times that are associated with a number of medical procedures. With a number of natural medicines available online nowadays, you can buy sildenafil online as well as other common medicines such as paracetamol and ibuprofen with ease. But what about medical treatments? Here, we are going to look at some of the alternative medicines and treatment to aid health.

Acupuncture

In ancient Chinese medicine, the use of acupuncture was used to help clean out the body of negative energy and help the blood flow throughout the body. During an acupuncture treatment, your physician will ask you about any past medical issues that you may have and then proceed to assess the tongue and the ear for sensitivity in specific problem areas. You will then have needles placed into these pressure points that help increase blood flow and break up stagnation of the energy in the body. Although it can take a few visits to get the full effect of this style of therapy, it can help dramatically decrease the amount of pain felt on a daily basis.

Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic medicine on the other hand, is slightly different from acupuncture as it involves the manipulation of the skeletal system to decrease pain and help aid movement following the treatment. This involves an assessment on the level of movement that you have, as well as the length of each of the legs to assess how to help the patient. Although this level of manipulation can be dated back to the early days of medicine, the results of such a procedure can differ from person to person due to everyone's body maintaining the adjustments for a different amount of time.

Osteopathy Medicine

A common misconception to many is that osteopaths and chiropractors are the same. However, this could not be further from the truth. Whilst they do have a similar focus of manipulating the spine for overall health, an osteopath believes that every part of the body is interconnected, because of this, they will also manipulate the muscles and help to ensure that overall body health is maintained by using the spine as the foundation. Treatment with an osteopath often consists of the manipulation of vertebrae surrounding the spine, helping the muscles to function properly.

Massage therapy

Another form of alternative therapy is massage therapy. Unlike Osteopath and Chiropractors, they are not required to manipulate the spine in any way and rather manipulate the muscles to relieve tension. This is particularly beneficial to those that are experiencing trapped nerves as this can help to relieve the tension and allow freedom of movement. Treatments such as this are perfect for those that are in stressful jobs as the stress can build up over a long period of time.

With all this in mind, these alternative medicines could be ideal for you if you are dealing with nagging back pain or recovering from an injury, as you can undergo these procedures privately without the use of the NHS.
