A career in medicine is a career in service. Medical professionals and healthcare providers understand that their main goal is to serve their patients and promote an environment where health and well-being are a top priority. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to succeed in a career in medicine. However, Dr. Ari Bernstein, MD, believes that this success relies on how you positively impact the lives of those around you.

Dr. Bernstein is a board-certified physician, best-selling author, healthcare entrepreneur, and investor in Fruit Street Health, a telemedicine start-up for diabetes prevention. He certainly wears many hats, but he believes that progress starts by looking outside the box. "Technology is rapidly changing all around us, and it gives us the ability to serve more people effectively," says Dr. Ari. "We're currently witnessing technology removing barriers to healthcare access, which could prove incredibly valuable to our communities."

"When I began studying medicine, I immediately saw how my work could change the lives of those I served. I view medicine as more than just a career. It's about a life of service," he explains. The doctor saw a unique opportunity with Fruit Street Health and their new offering CovidMD, as both platforms are giving the power back to patients. "Medicine isn't just about writing prescriptions," he adds. "It's about improving people's lives and their world through better health."

Everything starts with health. "If we don't have good health, we have nothing. That is why, as healthcare professionals, we must start envisioning a world in which we can get healthcare efficiently and safely to everyone," explains Dr. Bernstein. "This is the impact I want to leave on the world."

What makes him so tenacious is his refusal to back down on his vision. Having risen above his own struggles of growing up without a father and the pain of four back surgeries, Dr. Ari Bernstein knows that anything is possible, and that is the mindset he tries to instill in all his patients.
