New "Dragon Ball Z" TV series, named "Dragon Ball Super," will reportedly have an enemy who is stronger than Buu or Freeza as confirmed by Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki.

"As I read the plot [of the series] I've already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand," Nozaki commented. "An enemy even stronger than Buu or Freeza may appear..."

iDigitalTimes speculated that the producer may be talking about Broly or God-Broly. The website also reported that Akira Toriyama, the original creator of the "Dragon Ball Z" series, will be involved with the series, unlike "Dragon Ball GT" which was not based on any previous manga arcs.

Toriyama is credited for the show's story and character concepts. Kimitoshi Chioka of Toei Animation will direct the new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series while Naoko Sagawa and Atsushi Kido join the production as producers along with Nozaki.

He was also involved with the latest film for the franchise, "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F." It premiered on more than 600 theaters in Japan. Funimation has confirmed that an English-dubbed version will be released in summer 2015.

"Dragon Ball Super" will premiere on Japanese televisions in July every Sunday at 9 a.m. It will be the first new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series since "Dragon Ball GT" which aired from 1996 to 1997. The story is set a few years after Goku defeated Majin Buu.

"We've always used the word 'chō' (Super) with 'Dragon Ball' in commercials, games and the like, but the fact that the series titled 'Dragon Ball Super' is beginning is the best thing ever," Mazako Nozawa, the voice actor of Goku, Gohan and Goten, said.

It will reportedly have as many as 100 episodes or more, depending on how fans receive the new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series. The anime may also have an onslaught of tougher characters. Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Vegeta and Piccolo may be more useful in the new show.
