The "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Xbox exclusivity deal may have stopped with Treyarch's upcoming shooter.

Treyarch has always released "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" on Xbox first. Each game would have its demo on a Microsoft stage and its advertisements would have the Xbox logo. Plus, DLC would always be released to Xbox consoles first along with a 30-day exclusivity period.

However, VG247 reported that the UK Xbox One page, which usually shows a green box on the game covers to indicate that it is either an "exclusive game" or "content first," surprisingly did not place a green box on the cover of "Black Ops 3." The website commented that it may be due to the fact that "CoD: BO3" will also be published for Xbox 360.

Activision has teased fans that "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Xbox One may also be released for Nintendo's Wii U. The video game publisher was asked about the Nintendo ID connectivity feature on the "CoD" site. Activision Support vaguely replied that the user should stay tuned for more Wii U releases.

Treyarch may be able to address the DLC problem with online multiplayer games, especially for first-person shooters. Game Zone reported that games come with a Season Pass that promises future content for additional cost, on top of the price of the game. It usually includes features like new maps.

The problem starts when the DLC is released and it splits the community between players who were able to purchase the new features and those who did not buy it. As time goes by, and as more DLC has been released, the more that the community is split. This results to long wait times between matches, poor connection quality and unsatisfactory game experience.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will only be released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC which means that it will have a smaller playerbase. David Vonderhaar, Treyarch's Studio Design Director, has assured fans that they are working on addressing the problem.
