The "Assassination Classroom" season 2 trailer has been released.

Anime News Network reported that the official website for the series has streamed a teaser commercial last Tuesday. "Assassination Classroom" season 2 is set to premiere in January.

Staff from the first season is set to return for "Assassination Classroom" season 2. Seiji Kishi, who has worked on "Persona 4: The Animation," "Danganronpa: The Animation" and "Devil Survivor 2: The Animation," is directing the series.

Kazuaki Morita ("Arpeggio of Blue Steel," "Persona 4: The Animation") is in character design and Makoto Uezu ("School Days," "Is This a Zombie?") wrote the scripts. Naoki Sato will reportedly still take charge for the series' music.

According to Crunchyroll, the 15-second "Assassination Classroom" season 2 trailer featured the voice of Mai Fuchigami, who took on the role of Nagisa Shiota. She described the classroom's mission to assassinate the strange Koro-sensei, their homeroom teacher.

There are a lot of series set in schools this anime season. Kpopstarz commented, however, that no other classroom has a deadly teacher who wants to destroy the Earth by the end of the semester.

An "Assassination Classroom" manga spin-off has been previously confirmed. Kizuku Watanabe and Jo Aoto will be launching "Koro-sensei Q!" ("Quest") in the November issue of Shueisha's Saikyo Jump magazine. The publication has teased that the title character is set to become a "demon king" at the beginning of the manga.

The live-action film for "Assassination Classroom" reportedly lacked a cohesive plot, unlike its anime and manga versions. The film was said to have covered the anime's 24 episodes into two hours, leading to poor character development and losing its sense of flow.

"Assassination Classroom" is based on Yusei Matsui's manga series of the same name. The first season premiered in Japan on Jan. 9.

Its first live-action movie opened in Japan last March 21. The second live-action film adaptation is slated for release by spring next year.
