Nina Dobrev's "The Vampire Diaries" exit could be causing the show's declining viewership.

According to Movie News Guide, the popular romantic CW drama is seriously suffering from less viewership. Recently, the network announced that "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will be moved from its usual slot every Thursday to Friday.

The change in schedule came as a shock since this is the first time that this has happened in the series' history. Moreover, "TVD" has never been rescheduled since its premiere.

It looked like Nina Dobrev's "The Vampire Diaries" exit has clearly upset its audience. "TVD" season 7 episode 17, entitled "Mommie Dearest," recorded the show's lowest viewership with 1.10 million.

Kpopstarz reported that Nina Dobrev admitted that she is biding her time in choosing her next projects. It was previously reported that the "TVD" cast wants the 26-year-old actress back and Ian Somerhalder out of the show.

Apparently, Nina Dobrev used to keep the actor "in check" and, now that she has left the series, no one is pulling Somerhalder back to earth. Since then, he is said to have been acting more like a "diva" during production.

However, it is unlikely that Nina Dobrev's "The Vampire Diaries" return will happen since the actress has already moved on with her career. Last September, she confirmed that she will not be appearing in the upcoming season of the show.

"I can't wait to see what the new season will look like," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I'll be watching. I'm very excited for my friends... That chapter is closed, sadly - bittersweet."

In a session with Interview magazine, Nina Dobrev talked about her career and how she chooses her next projects. "Very, very carefully," she admitted.

"Like I said earlier, there's been a lot of offers, but I don't need to work right away. I'd rather wait for something really good-to be excited about a role, or a director, or a project. I'm not just going to accept something because it's a lot of money."
