The "Halo" series has sold 65 million units worldwide as announced by Microsoft.
Microsoft's "Halo" series, which debuted in 2001 on Xbox with "Halo: Combat Evovled," has sold over 65 million units. GameSpot reported that this is from last year's figure of 60 million "Halo" titles sold worldwide in Oct. 2014.
Last year's "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" may have greatly contributed to the spike in the series' sales. It is highly likely that the latest 343 Industries' game continues to facilitate the rise of the shooter's popularity especially now that it is featured in Xbox One system bundles.
The new trailer for "Halo 5: Guardians" animated series "Halo: The Fall of Reach" was released at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 (SDCC). The three-act series focuses on the origin stories of the SPARTAN-II program. It is set before and after the Covenant attack on humanity. "Halo: The Fall of Reach" will be included in the Limited and Collector's Edition of "Halo 5."
Fans can get the "Halo 5: Guardians" Collector's Edition for $249.99. The item is slated for release on Oct. 20, 2015. The game's Limited Edition costs $99.99 and includes a Spartan-themed SteelBook, Guardian model by Metal Earth, Dossiers on Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris, among others.
343 Industries has added a new Requisition System (REQ) which will work in the game's two multiplayer experiences: Arena and Warzone. Players can earn REQ points after each match in Arena or Warzone and spend them on REQ packs. Each pack contains a variety of REQs such as unlockable weapons and armors, skins and assassination animations, among others.
"Halo 5: Guardians" introduced a new 12v12 mode named Warzone. This requires maps about four times bigger than the ones usually used in the game. The latest and biggest "Halo 5" Warzone map to be unveiled is Raid on Apex 7.
The "Halo 5: Guardians" release date has been confirmed for Oct. 27. It will be published exclusively for Xbox One.
